Why Exercise To Lose Weight

Why Exercise?
People all over the world ask themselves each day if there is any real point to regular exercise. After all, people get by just fine in some cases. It seems that everybody knows at least one person who is a confirmed couch potato and appears to be the picture of health. So why go through all the fuss and effort if it really doesn’t mean anything?
There are several good reasons why you should exercise.
First, forget about your buddy who never does anything. There is a good chance that no matter how comfortable and healthy he looks while ensconced on his sofa, there is something going on inside that will cause him problems down the road. A sedentary lifestyle is a breeding ground for high cholesterol and clogged arteries. Exercise helps to keep things moving along, and makes it harder for reasonable amounts of bad cholesterol to collect in your system and cause a stroke or heart attack.
Another good reason for exercising is a desire to enjoy a decent quality of life for more years. A lack of exercise actually causes the body to wear down sooner; things began to stop working and that leads to loads of pills and time spent in the hospital. It is much better to engage in light to moderate exercise daily and thus not require a dozen medications to remain operational, or have various body parts replaced. Instead of spending your later years recovering from yet another surgery or adding to your collection of pills, you can be out enjoying the day with the grandchildren.
The physical benefits of exercise are not all you get. There are also the emotional and mental benefits as well. People who engage in regular exercise tend to be able to handle tasks with less mental strain. The release of endorphins during exercise helps to maintain a balanced mood and mental state. As a result, there is less chance of falling victim to anxiety and other emotional disorders. Regular exercise along with proper nutrition can also help to minimize the chances of developing Alzheimer’s and other debilitating mental conditions as well.
In short, if you want to live longer, enjoy a better quality of life, and have a good chance of being in full control of your mental faculties when your time to pass on to the Great Beyond arrives, plan on including regular exercise in your daily routine. It takes such a small investment of your time and effort to yield big rewards; why not start todayPeople all over the world ask themselves each day if there is any real point to regular exercise. Start Exercising To Lose Weight

Exercise is one of those habits that is so easy to slip out of and so hard to start up again.  However, most of us do not get anywhere near enough activity from our daily routine. This is especially true for people who work in offices and spend most of the day in front of a computer monitor.  If you find yourself in a rut of low activity and no exercise, take heart.  There are some simple ways to get you back into the habit and begin reaping the rewards that come with being active.
First, don’t feel you have to leap into a full-blown exercise program right off the bat.  Instead, start off with simple exercises that will fit neatly into your day.  For example, start off with a walk or bike ride around the neighborhood before or after work.  There are benefits either way.  If done early in the morning, your walk or bike ride can help to stimulate you for the day and help you be more productive. If done in the evening, that bike ride or walk can be a great way to unwind from the tensions of the workday.  Shoot for at least fifteen minutes of walking or biking at a brisk pace and work your way up to thirty minutes.
Second, set reasonable goals.  An example of reasonable goals would be to enhance the tone of your legs and arms over the course of a month.  An unreasonable goal would be to lose ten pounds in four days from frenetic exercising.  The idea is to enhance your physical and emotional well being with the use of regular exercise in sensible doses.  By setting short-term goals that will provide you with stepping stones to a larger goal, you will over time lose weight, tone your muscles and feel a lot better.
Third, consider working out with a friend.  This can be especially important if you have not exercised in a long time.  Sharing the experience with another human being can provide motivation to keep going, and also help to pass the time while you go through exercise routines that can become somewhat stale over time.  You may find that you enjoy the camaraderie so much that your exercise routine seems to fly by before you know it, and gives you something to look forward to each day.
By starting off with simple exercises, keeping your goals within reason, and choosing to share the time with a buddy, you create an environment where you are much more likely to stick with the routine and begin to cultivate a more active lifestyle.  Over time, you will begin to feel much better physically and emotionally, and find that even the most mundane of work during the day is not quite so draining as it was before.  Why not start your program today?
